The Where You Work Matters list, powered by the American Opportunity Index, is an independent rating of how well the largest US employers are creating high quality jobs, recognizing those doing the best in advancing, paying and retaining their workers.

The list assessed 1,7502 employers across public traded, private and non-profits, representing over 12 million US workers measuring employee career progression across all occupations using six key metrics – Internal Promotions, Outside Advancement Opportunities, Compensation, Employee Retention, Entry Level Opportunities and the percent of a company’s top personnel who were promoted from within.
