A Top 30 Most Influential Advisor

In 2010, Ken Fisher was included on Investment Advisor’s "Thirty for Thirty" list of the 30 most influential individuals in and around the investment management profession over the last three decades.

The Thirty for Thirty list included individuals which Investment Advisor noted as having been the most influential in building the independent advisor profession. Investment Advisor recognised these thirty individuals under the following categories: Pioneers & Practitioners, Iconoclasts & Visionaries and Partners & Politicians. Ken Fisher was included in the Pioneers and Practitioners category. Others including Benjamin Graham, John Bogle and Roger Ibbotson. 

In the interview Ken gave with Investment Advisor, he discussed the roots of the advisory firm industry and the biggest changes he has seen in the advisory profession over the past 30 years. Ken also discussed some of the differences between the average Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) and Fisher Investments.  In particular, Ken noted the separation of sales and services groups and the benefits that separation provides to clients. He also highlighted Fisher Investments’ “complete full global orientation,” which is something many others in the industry had not embraced.  Finally, Ken mentioned Fisher Investments' focus on innovation and using Main Street, not Wall Street, as role model for innovation success.
