What You Can Expect as a New Client

What a client can expect from Fisher when they first become a client, or when they're really starting to first open up those conversations with us, are a couple of things.
We're going to have a dedicated representative actually spend the time with you to help you really learn about Fisher and really learn if Fisher Investments might be the type of firm that can help you. And a lot of that is going to be detailed conversations around your goals, your hopes, your dreams, your time horizon, your family situation, your retirement planning. We'll be asking you a lot about that to really understand how we might be able to help you.
You are going to be working with an Investment Counselor, somebody whose job is to coach you, guide you, educate you, teach you about what Fisher Investments does. But the Investment Counselor is also supported by a huge array of resources, whether that be client programs, seminars or webinars, or additional information to you just to be educated. We've got a lot of online resources, whether it be through apps or whether through email that can actually give you further information
There's also going to be a whole team dedicated to making sure that your portfolio is implemented correctly, that all of the transfers are happening correctly. We don't believe in a jack of all trades, master of none. We really rely on specialists within each area of the portfolio and each area of client services to make sure that you're ultimately getting what you might need.

With respect to its discretionary portfolio management services, Fisher Investments partially outsources aspects of the day-to-day portfolio management and trading functions to its affiliates. In particular, day-to-day portfolio strategy decision-making will be conducted by Fisher Asset Management, LLC ("FAM") and trading functions may be carried out by various affiliates. FAM is the parent company of Fisher Investments and such affiliates and is established in the USA (Delaware Secretary of State number 3936233) and regulated by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC# 801-29362).
The protections of the Irish regulatory regime, including the Investor Compensation Scheme ("ICS"), apply to the activities of Fisher Investments. The ICS pays 90% of net loss up to a maximum of €20,000 in certain circumstances when an investment firm authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland goes out of business. However, such protections do not apply in relation to the services of FAM, affiliates of Fisher Investments, any custodian or bank located outside of Ireland, or to the extent a client’s assets are invested in non-Irish funds or ETFs.
