CAMAS, Wash. – March 22, 2016 – Fisher Investments (“the firm”) announced today that Damian Ornani has been named the firm’s next Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2016. Founder Ken Fisher will remain with the firm as full-time Executive Chairman, Co-Chief Investment Officer, and a member of the Investment Policy Committee, where he will be as active as ever in guiding  investment strategies, long-term strategic vision and participating in internal and external communication.

Mr. Ornani’s promotion follows decades of tremendous growth at Fisher Investments. The firm currently serves more than 35,000 clients representing over $65 billion in assets under management, making it by many measures the world’s largest independent Registered Investment Adviser (RIA). The firm’s 2,000 employees work from offices in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

A 20-year veteran of Fisher Investments, Mr. Ornani has played a central role in guiding its growth. He’s been a member of the firm’s Executive Management Team since 2005, and currently oversees the bulk of the firm’s employees in its principal business units, including the Private Client Group, the Institutional Group, Fisher Investments International, and 401(k) Solutions.

“With our ongoing growth in clients, assets under management, employees, and our expanding presence on four continents, it’s a natural evolution to separate the management and investment functions,” said Ken Fisher. “Damian Ornani is a proven leader who understands our firm, values, employees, and most importantly, our clients. Working by my side over the last two decades, he has earned my absolute confidence, and his promotion creates greater management depth and capacity at the top of the firm.  That in turn brings stability, continuity, and ultimately comfort for our clients.”

“As Damian assumes this role, I will devote more of my time and energy to the areas where I provide the most value to our clients, including guiding the firm’s investment strategies,” Mr. Fisher continued. “I’ll also continue spending time with clients and the public, just as I do now.”

Mr. Ornani said, “I am honored and excited by the opportunity to serve as the CEO of Fisher Investments. I’ve spent the better part of the last 20 years working hard to better the investment universe and contribute to the growth of a firm that puts clients first. Ken and I remain committed to those principles moving forward, and clients should expect from us the same dedication to service, education, and capital markets innovation that we’ve had since our founding. They deserve nothing less.”

As CEO, Mr. Ornani’s responsibilities will expand to include oversight of all non-investment operations, including client service, hiring, budgeting, staffing, sales and marketing, technology, and more. He will also continue to lead the Firm’s expansion into international markets, 401(k) solutions for small businesses, and development of new institutional offerings.
