Vice Chairman, Co-Chief Investment Officer

Jeff Silk is the Vice Chairman and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Fisher Investments. As one of Fisher Investments’ first employees, Jeff has been with the firm since 1983.

Jeff is a current member of the firm's five-member Investment Policy Committee (IPC), which also includes Ken Fisher, Bill Glaser, Michael Hanson and Aaron Anderson. Directly supported by Fisher Investments' in-house team of research analysts, the IPC makes strategic investment decisions for both institutional and private client portfolios.

In his current role, Jeff oversees portfolio construction, portfolio management and implementation across a wide range of investment strategies. He provides guidance to the following groups:

  • Portfolio Evaluation Group (PEG): The Portfolio Evaluation Group provides each private client with a written portfolio analysis and suitable investment recommendation based on a number of criteria, including time horizon, income needs and investment goals.
  • Investment Operations Group: This group handles a broad range of investment operations functions, including portfolio accounting, portfolio analytics and reporting, securities operations, trading and trading operations. 
  • Research Group: The Research Group supports the Investment Policy Committee through a variety of functions, including macroeconomic analysis, sector and country analysis, individual securities analysis and performance attribution—among other things.

Prior to his current role, Jeff was Fisher Investments' President and Chief Operating Officer. He has also served as the firm’s Director of Trading and Operations, where he was instrumental in developing Fisher Investments' portfolio management, research and trading technology.

Jeff resides in Hillsborough, California with his wife and three children.
