Our Woodside, California office is situated next to the Purisima Creek Redwoods Preserve, an expansive open space known for its towering redwood trees and scenic trails. The Purisima Trailhead is a landmark right next to our property. This proximity is not a coincidence; it’s a source of inspiration.

The name "Purisima" itself is Spanish for “most pure,” a fitting description for the pristine forests and creeks found within the preserve. This area has been part of the firm's environment for years, making the adoption of the Purisima name a natural extension of our history and identity.

This choice follows a longstanding cultural tendency at Fisher Investments to select names reflecting local geography and natural themes. We believe these connections reinforce ideas of longevity, durability and long-term thinking—principles central to our investment philosophy. The redwoods of the Purisima preserve, some of which have stood for a century or more, are powerful symbols of resilience and enduring strength.

This connection is further strengthened by the personal dedication to forest ecology of our founder, Executive Chairman and Co-Chief Investment Officer Ken Fisher. An alumnus of Humboldt State University, Ken Fisher established the Fisher Chair in Redwood Forest Ecology, an endowment dedicated to the study and preservation of these vital ecosystems.^[i] The Purisima name is therefore not just a geographical reference; it’s a reflection of Ken’s deeply held appreciation of redwoods and a belief in the importance of thinking for the long term, much like the forests themselves.

Information About Purisima Investment Funds

Purisima Investment Funds is a UK-based open-ended investment company incorporated in England and Wales under registered number IC 162 and authorized as a Undertaking for Collective Investment in Transferrable Securities (“UCITS”) by the UK Financial Conduct Authority, which is comprised of three sub-funds: the Purisima Global Total Return Fund, the Purisima UK Total Return Fund, and the Purisima EAFE Total Return Fund. Fisher Investments acts as the investment manager for Purisima Investment Funds.

Fisher Investment also acts as the investment manager for the Purisima Investment Fund (CI) Limited, an open-ended investment company established in Jersey, Channel Islands, as an Expert Fund in accordance with the Jersey Collective Investment Funds Order 1995.
